FAITH. IDENTITY. PURPOSE
🧱 WEEK 1: BUILD WITH GOD – Focus: Let God establish what you’re building
DAY 3
👉 Scripture
Proverbs 24:3–4 (NKJV)
“Through wisdom a house is built,
And by understanding it is established;
By knowledge the rooms are filled
With all precious and pleasant riches.”
👉 “What if…” perspective shift
What if the question isn’t whether God will bless what you’re building—but whether He is the One building it with you?
It’s possible to have vision, ambition, plans, and even good intentions—and still move ahead of God.
We can become so focused on asking God to bless our plans that we forget to ask Him whether those plans came from Him in the first place.
Proverbs tells us that a house is built through wisdom, established through understanding, and filled through knowledge.
In other words, what lasts isn’t simply built by effort.
It’s built by wisdom.
And biblical wisdom begins with God.
👉 Breakdown
There is nothing wrong with wanting to build.
You may be building a business. A ministry. A marriage. A family. A career. A dream. A new season. Or simply the person you believe God is calling you to become.
The danger comes when building becomes more important than listening.
Sometimes we get so excited about where we believe God is taking us that we start constructing the future without remaining dependent on the One who gave us the vision.
We pray:
“God, bless this.”
“God, open this door.”
“God, make this grow.”
“God, take this to the next level.”
But wisdom asks a deeper question:
“God, is this what You want me to build?”
And after that:
“How do You want me to build it?”
Because God isn’t looking for impressive plans constructed without His presence.
He wants surrendered people who trust His wisdom more than their own blueprint.
Proverbs 24 doesn’t say a house is established through speed, popularity, resources, talent, or ambition.
It says it is established through understanding.
That means there may be seasons when God slows you down—not because He is withholding something good, but because He is establishing something deeper.
There may be moments when His wisdom tells you to wait while everyone else seems to be moving.
There may be doors you could force open that God never asked you to walk through.
There may even be things you have the ability to build that you do not yet have His permission to build.
Maturity is learning that “I can” and “God said” are not the same thing.
Before asking God for expansion, ask Him for alignment.
Before asking Him for more, ask whether the foundation can carry it.
Before building bigger, make sure you’re building with God.
Because something built with God may develop differently than you expected. It may take longer. It may require surrender. It may demand obedience when obedience makes little sense to everyone around you.
But what God establishes carries something human effort alone cannot produce:
His presence.
And His presence is worth more than impressive results.
👉 “A lot of people…” contrast
A lot of people measure success by how big something becomes.
God cares about how it was built.
A lot of people ask, “Is it working?”
Wisdom asks, “Is God in it?”
A lot of people believe faster means better.
But sometimes God builds slowly because He is developing the person who will have to carry what He is preparing.
You don’t need to compete with someone else’s timeline.
You don’t need to force growth to prove that God is with you.
You don’t need to build something impressive enough to validate your calling.
Your responsibility is surrender.
His responsibility is establishment.
👉 Truth statements
👉 God’s wisdom is more valuable than my best strategy.
👉 I don’t need God to bless my blueprint; I need Him to give me His.
👉 Growth without God is not the goal.
👉 God may develop my foundation before He expands my influence.
👉 Waiting for God is not wasting time.
👉 What God establishes does not require me to abandon His presence to maintain it.
👉 Before I build bigger, I will make sure I’m building with God.
👉 Challenge
Look at the thing you are currently trying hardest to build.
Then spend intentional time with God today and ask:
“Father, am I building this with You—or have I simply been asking You to bless what I already decided to build?”
Don’t rush to answer for Him.
Listen.
If He confirms it, keep building with Him.
If He redirects it, trust Him enough to change the plans.
If He tells you to wait, trust Him enough not to force the next step.
Today, choose alignment over expansion.
👉 Prayer
Father, thank You for caring not only about what I build, but about who I become while building it. Forgive me for the times I have created my own plans and then simply asked You to bless them. I don’t want success without Your presence or growth without Your wisdom.
Teach me to seek You before I move. Give me wisdom to know what You are asking me to build, understanding to build it Your way, and discernment to recognize when You are telling me to wait, move, change direction, or let something go.
I surrender my plans, my timeline, my expectations, and my definition of success to You. Establish my life according to Your wisdom. Build something in me before You build something through me.
Whatever You place in my hands, help me steward it faithfully. And before I ever ask You to make it bigger, remind me to make sure I’m building it with You.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
