FAITH. IDENTITY. PURPOSE

🧱 WEEK 1: BUILD WITH GOD – Focus: Let God establish what you’re building

DAY 1

👉 Scripture

Psalm 127:1 (KJV)
“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”

👉 “What if…” perspective shift

What if the question isn’t whether God will bless what you’re building—but whether God is the One building it?

It is possible to have vision, discipline, resources, opportunity, and even good intentions—and still build something God never asked you to build.

Sometimes we bring God our finished blueprint and ask Him to bless it.

But surrender looks different.

Surrender brings God a blank page and says, “Lord, You design it. You establish it. You build through me.”

Psalm 127:1 reminds us that God does not simply want to be included in our plans. He wants to be the foundation, architect, and source of what our lives become.

Before you build bigger, make sure you’re building with God.

👉 Breakdown

A “house” can represent much more than a physical building.

It can be your marriage.
Your family.
Your ministry.
Your business.
Your career.
Your dream.
Your future.
Even the person you are becoming.

And our natural tendency is to start building.

We make plans. Set goals. Create strategies. Work harder. Push doors open. Chase growth. Then somewhere along the way, we ask God to bless everything we have already decided to do.

But Psalm 127 confronts that pattern.

“Except the LORD build the house…”

The issue isn’t that planning is wrong. The issue is who has authority over the plan.

God isn’t looking for impressive plans constructed without His presence. He wants surrendered people who will allow Him to establish their lives according to His wisdom.

That means sometimes God will change the blueprint.

He may slow something down that you wanted to accelerate.

He may close a door you were convinced needed to open.

He may ask you to release something you spent years building.

He may lead you into a season that looks smaller externally while He builds something deeper internally.

And that can be difficult because we often measure progress by what is visible.

God measures differently.

Before God expands what is around you, He may strengthen what is within you.

Before He increases your influence, He may deepen your character.

Before He gives you more responsibility, He may teach you greater dependence.

The goal isn’t simply to build something for God.

It is to build something with God.

Because whatever God establishes does not require you to live exhausted trying to prove that it deserves to exist.

Your responsibility is obedience.

God’s responsibility is the outcome.

👉 “A lot of people…” contrast

A lot of people ask, “God, will You bless my plans?”

Biblical surrender asks, “God, what are Your plans?”

A lot of people assume bigger automatically means better.

But the Kingdom of God isn’t built on appearances. Something can look successful publicly while being spiritually empty privately.

And something can look small to everyone else while being exactly where God wants you.

The safest place isn’t always the biggest opportunity.

The safest place is wherever God is building.

You don’t need God to endorse your blueprint.

You need the humility to surrender it.

👉 Truth statements

👉 God’s presence matters more than impressive progress.

👉 A good opportunity is not automatically a God assignment.

👉 You don’t have to force what God has promised to establish.

👉 Delay does not always mean denial; sometimes God is strengthening the foundation.

👉 Obedience is more valuable than expansion.

👉 What God builds in you matters as much as what He builds through you.

👉 Before you ask God to bless the house, ask Him whether He designed it.

👉 Challenge

Before making your next move today, bring one area of your life back before God.

Your relationship. Your career. Your ministry. Your business. Your finances. Your next opportunity. Your future.

Instead of beginning with, “Lord, bless what I’m building,” ask:

“Lord, are You building this?”

Then give Him permission to change the blueprint.

👉 Prayer

Father, I don’t want to spend my life building something You never asked me to build. Forgive me for the times I’ve created my own plans and then simply asked You to bless them.

Teach me to seek Your presence before progress, Your wisdom before opportunity, and Your will before expansion.

If there are areas of my life I have been building without You, reveal them to me. Give me the humility to surrender my plans, the courage to release what You haven’t established, and the patience to follow Your timing.

Build my faith. Build my character. Build my relationships. Build my purpose. Build my life according to Your wisdom.

I don’t just want something impressive. I want something established by You.

Before I build bigger, teach me to build with You.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
